Fillings and Bonding

Dental decay (caries) is a condition that affects patients of all ages, it is one of the most common conditions we treat. We offer beautiful, tooth-colored restorations to protect your teeth and your smile.
The most controversial issue in dentistry today is that surrounding amalgams (silver fillings) – as amalgam contains mercury and releases mercury vapor into the body.

Composite or Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite Filling is an alternative to the traditional silver filling.  Composite fillings are tooth colored fillings. Tooth colored fillings are not only more pleasing to the eye, but can be bonded to the remaining tooth structure to provide a stronger restoration.

Dental bonding is used to make minor dental corrections. These corrections include cracks or gaps in teeth. Bonding uses the same resin as composite fillings and are matched to your tooth color.

After your comprehensive examination, Dr. Tam will explain the Pros and Cons of each type of fillings for you. After you are educated on your treatment options, you will decide on which type of filling is the right one for you.
